Driver Safety

While speed increases the ‘severity factor’ of a road collision, driver error is a major contributor to the causes of an accident.

The volume of traffic on the roads, together with the varying pressure on drivers, inevitably means that many road users will be involved in an accident.

As an alternative to prosecuting you for an offence of driving without due care and attention the police may offer you the opportunity to attend the National Driver Improvement Scheme Course.  There is a fee for attending the course and drivers who participate will not be prosecuted but benefit by improving their driving skills.

The course involves the following;

  • Theory and practical driving sessions
  • Completing course paperwork
  • Demonstrating a willingness to improve driving skills

Why wait until an accident happens, be pro-active and book yourself on to the course and improve your driving skills thus reducing your chances of being involved in a collision.

If you have been in a collision and are being prosecuted as an alternative to attending the course where you are pleading guilty please discuss with us the benefits of attending a course which can be used in mitigation at the Court and potentially reduce your punishment.

We can arrange your attendance on a course with the appropriate organisation.
